When I saw the "Country Mercantile" sign I could just taste the fresh, homemade salsa. Mm mm, and the delicious candy. But I knew it had to wait until we did all of the activities first. We got out of the car and waited for all our friends to show up. Once they were here a lady that worked there told us what we were going to do.
First, we went to the hay ride; a tractor that pulled an opened trailer with hay bales to sit on. It took us to the pumpkin patch. Everyone got to pick out their own pumpkin.
We all got back on the hay ride and got taken to a place to put our pumpkins so that we wouldn't have to carry them around while we do other things. Then, we walked to the hay maze. I went in a couple times guiding the kiddos through. When everyone made it out, we all went to the hay bale pyramid.
I didn't climb to the top, but I helped the littlens get up and down.Everyone got down and went to the petting barn. There were rabbits, goats, cows (which were covered in flies), a rooster, sheep, and a reindeer. They were cool looking, but I was too scared of when they last had a bath to pet them. I did touch a rabbit though.
With hand sanitizer on my hands I, along with everybody else, walked to some hay bales under some shade to have cookies and juice that was passed out by a lady that worked there.

All the activities were over and done and we went to put our pumpkins in our cars. Calland took a little ride on the way.

I was ready to go to the Country Mercantile store, but it was time for lunch. We got our packed lunches and ate at picnic tables just outside the store. I ate quickly and finally went into the store. I sampled a couple salsas here and there and decided to buy the original and some of their yummy chips to go along with it. I went to the big jars of candy and filled a bag of my favorites. I purchased the food I got and was satisfied. We all sampled a couple more yummy goodies, looked around the store, then jumped in the car and rode home.It was very fun and I'm looking forward to next year.
